Dual Training Grant request for proposal opens

Today our partners at the Minnesota Office of Higher Education launched the request for proposal for a new round of the Dual Training Grant and Legal Cannabis Dual Training Grant. We encourage those interested in addressing their workforce needs through earn-and-learn dual-training programs to apply. View the eligible occupations here including new options for child care, health care services, legal cannabis industry and transportation.
Dual Training Grant recipients can use the funds to help cover costs related to instruction toward attaining an industry-recognized degree, certificate or credential for their employees through a dual-training program.
Grant writing workshops are scheduled to help prepare employers and organizations of employers to apply for the Dual Training Grant. Workshop registration information is below.
2025 grant timeline
March 4, 2025: Request for proposals opens
April 3, 2025, 4 p.m.: Deadline for submitting technical questions
April 9, 2025: Grants Management System user registration deadline
April 15, 2025, 4 p.m.: Request for proposals deadline
May 23, 2025: Applicants notified about awards
May 27, 2025: Grantees publicly announced
May 29, 2025, noon: Mandatory grantee orientation
June through July 2025: Prepare grant documents
August 2025: Sign grant contract
Aug. 7, 2025, 2 p.m.: Optional dual trainee welcome session
August 2025: Begin dual-training program
